Possible Causes

Failed grill element, loose grill element connections, damaged wiring to grill, faulty grill relay on PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the mains and allow the oven to cool fully before inspection.

  • Test grill function: Select full grill and set a moderate temperature (if applicable). If E004 appears and the grill does not glow red, suspect the grill circuit.
  • Visual inspection: Look at the grill element at the top of the cavity. Check for cracks, blisters, or burn marks.
  • Access terminals: Remove the top cover or rear panel (depending on model) to access the grill element terminals. Check for loose or burnt connectors.
  • Continuity test: Disconnect the grill element and measure resistance. A typical grill element is 20–40 Ω. Infinite resistance indicates failure.
  • Check wiring harness: Follow the wires from the grill element back to the control board, looking for heat damage or chafing.

Replace the grill element if open-circuit or visibly damaged. If the element and wiring are good but E004 persists, the grill relay or main PCB may be defective and should be tested or replaced by a professional.
