Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately switch off power at the mains. Do not continue using the oven until the fault is resolved, as there is a risk of electric shock.
- Drying cycle (if safe): If the error appeared after steam cleaning or a spill, moisture may be inside an element. With the oven disconnected, allow it to dry for 24–48 hours. Do not apply power if there is visible water inside.
- Visual inspection: Remove rear and top covers to inspect wiring looms and elements for signs of arcing, burn marks, or melted insulation.
- Insulation test (professional): Use a megohmmeter to test insulation resistance between each element terminal and earth. Low resistance indicates leakage and the element should be replaced.
- Check mains filter: Inspect the mains interference filter (often near the terminal block) for cracks or burns.
Replace any element or wiring showing leakage to earth. If you are not equipped to perform insulation testing, contact a qualified appliance technician.
