Possible Causes

Failed low-voltage transformer on PCB, shorted oven lamp holder, shorted cavity light wiring, damaged auxiliary output on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the oven from mains before inspecting internal wiring or the lamp holder.

  • Check oven lamp: Remove the lamp cover and bulb. Inspect for broken glass or shorted filament. Replace with the correct Neff-rated oven bulb.
  • Inspect lamp holder: Look for signs of arcing or burning around the lamp holder and its wiring. Replace if damaged.
  • Test with lamp removed: With the bulb removed and power restored, see if E016 still appears. If the error clears, the bulb or holder was likely the cause.
  • PCB inspection: If E016 persists, remove the control board and inspect the low-voltage section (transformer, rectifier, regulators) for damage.

Replace the lamp and holder if faulty. If the low-voltage supply on the PCB has failed, the main control board will usually need replacement.
