Possible Causes

Failed cooling fan motor, stuck cooling fan relay, faulty temperature sensor near control panel, wiring fault to cooling fan

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains before accessing the top or rear panels.

  • Observe fan behavior: After switching the oven off, the cooling fan should run for a short time then stop. If it never runs or runs indefinitely with E017, suspect a control issue.
  • Check fan motor: Access the cooling fan (usually at the top rear of the oven). Spin the blades by hand to ensure they move freely. Check for noise or stiffness.
  • Continuity test: Measure resistance across the cooling fan motor. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
  • Wiring and relay: Inspect wiring from the fan to the PCB. Look for burnt connectors. On the PCB, check the cooling fan relay for signs of overheating.

Replace the cooling fan motor if open-circuit or seized. If the motor is good but not controlled correctly, the relay or main control board may need replacement.
