Do not use until fixed: Overheating is dangerous; avoid further use.
Sensor test: With power off, test the temperature sensor resistance. A very low resistance or short indicates failure; replace the sensor.
Relay inspection: Inspect the main PCB for a relay that appears welded or burnt. A stuck-closed relay can keep elements powered.
Wiring check: Ensure no bypass wiring has been added and that the thermostat/sensor is correctly connected.
