Possible Causes
Open-circuit temperature sensor (NTC probe), shorted temperature sensor, damaged sensor wiring harness, faulty main oven control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off the oven at the wall isolator and remove the fuse or turn off the circuit breaker. Allow the oven to cool completely before working on it.
- Power reset: Turn off power for 5 minutes, then restore. Re-select a cooking function and temperature. If F01 reappears, continue below.
- Check temperature sensor resistance: Remove the oven from the housing enough to access the rear. Locate the main oven temperature sensor (usually a thin metal probe entering the cavity from the rear or top). Disconnect its two-wire plug. Using a multimeter on ohms, measure resistance at room temperature. A typical New World NTC sensor will read roughly 500–1200 Ω at 20–25°C (check service sheet if available). If reading is open (OL) or near 0 Ω, the sensor is faulty.
- Inspect wiring harness: Follow the sensor wires back to the main control PCB. Look for burnt, pinched, or broken wires and loose connectors. Reseat the plug on the PCB.
- Replace faulty sensor: If resistance is out of range, remove the mounting screw(s) inside the oven cavity holding the sensor, pull it out carefully, and fit a like-for-like New World oven temperature sensor. Route the new harness away from hot elements and sharp edges.
- Control board check: If the sensor tests good and wiring is intact, the main oven control PCB may have a failed sensor input circuit. Visual inspection may show burnt tracks or components. Replacement of the control PCB is usually required and is best done by a qualified technician.
