Possible Causes
Failed top oven element (if dual cavity), failed base element, loose or burnt element connectors, faulty function selector switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the isolator and verify the oven is dead before touching any wiring.
- Test different functions: Try fan oven, conventional, and grill. If only conventional fails, suspect the top/bottom elements or selector.
- Inspect top and base elements: Remove inner panels to expose the elements. Look for cracks or burn marks.
- Continuity test: Access the rear or base of the oven to reach the element terminals. Disconnect and test each element with a multimeter. Replace any open-circuit element with a New World-compatible part.
- Selector switch check: On knob-controlled models, remove the control panel and inspect the oven function selector switch. Burnt or loose contacts can prevent power reaching the elements. Replace the switch if damaged.
- Reassemble and test: After replacing faulty parts, reassemble panels, restore power, and test all functions.
