Possible Causes
Faulty door switch, misaligned door latch, broken door lock motor (on pyrolytic models), damaged wiring to door interlock
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the oven from the mains. Do not force the door.
- Check door closure: Ensure the door is fully closed and not obstructed by trays or warped hinges. Press firmly on the door and try to start the oven; if it starts only when pressed, the door switch or latch is misaligned.
- Inspect door latch and striker: Open the door and examine the latch hook and the striker plate on the cabinet. Tighten any loose screws and adjust alignment so the latch engages cleanly.
- Door switch test: Access the front frame area (remove top cover or control panel as needed) to locate the door switch. With power off, disconnect the switch and test continuity while pressing the actuator. Replace the switch if it does not change state reliably.
- Pyro lock motor (if fitted): On self-cleaning New World ovens, a lock motor engages during pyrolytic cycles. If F07 appears around cleaning cycles and the door will not unlock, the lock motor or its microswitches may have failed. Replacement is recommended to be done by a professional.
