Possible Causes
Failed cooling fan, blocked ventilation, faulty thermal cut-out thermostat, poor installation causing overheating of control area
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool completely before inspection.
- Check ventilation: Ensure the oven has correct clearances in the cabinet as per New World installation instructions. Remove any obstructions from vents above or below the oven.
- Cooling fan operation: With power restored, start the oven and listen for the cooling fan (usually above the cavity). If it does not run, switch off power and inspect the fan motor, wiring, and any series thermal fuses.
- Resettable thermostat: Some New World models have a manual-reset thermal cut-out on the top or rear of the oven. With power off, locate the small round thermostat with a red or black reset button and press it gently until it clicks.
- Replace faulty thermostat: If the cut-out trips repeatedly or shows open circuit permanently, replace it with the correct New World overheat thermostat.
- Check door seal: A badly leaking door seal can cause hot air to overheat the control panel. Replace a torn or flattened seal.
