Possible Causes

Open or shorted top oven sensor, damaged sensor wiring, faulty top oven control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect mains power and allow the oven to cool.

  • Locate top oven sensor: In double cavity New World ovens, the top oven has its own sensor, usually at the rear or side of the cavity. Remove the inner panel if needed.
  • Resistance test: Access the rear of the appliance, find the sensor wires for the top oven, disconnect, and measure resistance. Compare with expected NTC values. Replace if open or shorted.
  • Inspect harness: Follow the sensor wiring to the top oven control PCB or shared main PCB. Repair any damaged insulation or loose connectors.
  • Control board: If the sensor and wiring are good, the top oven control circuit on the PCB may be defective and require replacement.
