Possible Causes

Sensor resistance out of calibration, incorrect replacement sensor fitted, firmware calibration error, poor sensor contact with cavity

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains before testing components.

  • Verify correct sensor part: If the sensor was recently replaced, confirm it is the exact New World part number for your model. Incorrect NTC values will cause F16.
  • Measure sensor at two temperatures: Check resistance at room temperature and again after gently warming the sensor (e.g., in warm water, removed from oven). The resistance should change smoothly. If readings are erratic, replace the sensor.
  • Check sensor mounting: Ensure the sensor tip is correctly positioned in the cavity and not loose or pulled back into insulation.
  • Control calibration: Some models allow service calibration via the control; this should only be done with the service manual. If calibration is corrupted, the PCB may need replacement.
