Possible Causes
Touch sensor permanently activated, debris or moisture under glass, damaged touch PCB, shorted keypad membrane
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the oven from mains before removing the control fascia.
- Clean the panel: Wipe the touch area with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid excessive cleaning fluids. Allow to dry fully if recently cleaned.
- Inspect for physical damage: Look for cracks in the glass or fascia that may be pressing on the touch sensors.
- Disconnect and test: Remove the control panel and disconnect the touch PCB from the main board. Restore power briefly; if F17 disappears with the touch board disconnected, the touch panel is faulty and must be replaced.
- Replace touch panel: Fit a new New World touch control assembly, transferring any seals or brackets as required.
