Oven shows E2 and heating stops or never starts; fan may still run.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before working on the oven.
Steps to diagnose and fix:
- Access the sensor wiring: Remove the rear or top panel to reach the oven cavity temperature sensor harness.
- Inspect for pinched wires: Look for areas where the sensor cable may be trapped under metal panels or brackets, causing the insulation to wear through and short to the chassis. Free the cable and insulate or replace if damaged.
- Check for moisture: If the oven was recently steam-cleaned or used with high humidity, inspect the sensor connector for moisture. Dry the connector thoroughly and allow the oven to air dry for several hours.
- Measure resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure its resistance at room temperature. A reading near 0 Ω indicates a shorted sensor. Replace the sensor if shorted or if resistance is far outside the expected range.
- Replace sensor if needed: Remove the sensor from inside the cavity, pull it through the rear, and install a new OBH Nordica-compatible NTC sensor. Ensure proper routing away from hot elements.
- Test operation: Reassemble, restore power, and run a low-temperature bake cycle to confirm that E2 is cleared and temperature control is stable.
Important: If the sensor and wiring are good but E2 remains, the main control board's sensor circuit may be defective and require replacement by a technician.
