Oven shows E8 and the door lock may not engage for pyrolytic/self-clean cycles.

Steps to diagnose and fix:

• Check door movement: Open and close the door to ensure it aligns properly and the latch engages smoothly. Misalignment can prevent the lock from engaging.
• Access door lock assembly: Remove the top panel or front control panel (depending on model) to reach the door lock motor and latch assembly.
• Inspect for mechanical jams: Look for bent metal parts, grease buildup, or foreign objects obstructing the latch. Clean and straighten as needed.
• Check wiring and switches: Inspect the harness to the lock motor and microswitches. Reseat connectors and look for broken wires. Use a multimeter to test the microswitches for proper open/closed operation when the latch moves.
• Test lock motor: With power disconnected, measure resistance across the lock motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor that must be replaced.
• Replace faulty lock assembly: If the motor or switches are defective, replace the complete OBH Nordica-compatible door lock assembly to ensure reliable operation.
• Test: Reassemble, restore power, and start a self-clean or high-temperature cycle to verify that the door locks and E8 does not reappear.

Warning: Never attempt to force the door open during a self-clean cycle. Allow the oven to cool and power down before working on the lock.
