Possible Causes

Failed high-limit thermostat, Blocked cooling airflow, Stuck heating relay causing continuous heating, Faulty temperature sensor reading low

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect mains power and allow the oven to cool completely. Overtemperature conditions can be hazardous.

Steps to diagnose:

  • Check ventilation: Confirm that the oven has adequate clearance and that cooling vents are not obstructed by cabinetry or items stored around the oven.
  • Inspect cooling fan: Ensure the cooling fan operates during high-temperature use. If not, test and replace the cooling fan motor as needed.
  • Locate high-limit thermostat: Many OBH Nordica ovens have a manual-reset or non-resettable high-limit thermostat mounted on the top or rear of the cavity. Inspect it for signs of overheating.
  • Test thermostat: With power off, disconnect the thermostat and check for continuity. An open circuit on a non-resettable type indicates it has tripped permanently and must be replaced.
  • Check control relays: Inspect the main PCB for a relay stuck closed (contacts welded). If the oven continues heating when it should be off, replace the control board.
  • Replace faulty parts: Install a new OBH Nordica-compatible high-limit thermostat if required, and ensure proper mounting with good thermal contact.
  • Test: Reassemble, restore power, and run the oven at a moderate temperature to confirm stable operation without F2.
