Possible Causes
Open-circuit grill element, Burnt connector at grill element, Broken wiring to top element, Faulty grill relay on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power and allow the oven to cool before working near the top element.
Steps to diagnose and fix:
- Access grill element terminals: Remove the rear panel to reach the terminals of the top grill element. In some models, you may also need to remove the inner top shield.
- Inspect connectors: Check for heat-damaged spade connectors or discolored insulation. Replace any burnt connectors and trim back damaged wire.
- Test grill element: Disconnect one wire and measure resistance across the element. Infinite resistance indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
- Replace grill element: Remove mounting screws from inside the cavity, carefully lower the element, transfer wires to the new OBH Nordica-compatible grill element, and reinstall.
- Control board check: If the element tests good but does not heat when selected, the grill relay on the main control board may be defective. Replace the board if necessary.
- Test: Reassemble, restore power, and run a grill/broil cycle to confirm proper operation and that F5 is cleared.
