Oven door will not close fully; heat escapes and temperature is unstable.

Safety: Ensure the oven is cool before working on the door. Support the door to prevent it from dropping.

• 1. Inspect hinges: Open the door halfway and lift gently to check for excessive play. Look for bent hinge arms or loose screws at the hinge mounts.
• 2. Check door seal: Examine the rubber or fiberglass gasket around the cavity opening. Replace if torn, flattened, or hardened.
• 3. Tighten hinge screws: Remove side trims if necessary and tighten the hinge mounting screws on the oven body.
• 4. Hinge replacement: If hinges are visibly bent or the door sags, remove the door (usually by opening to a specific angle and lifting off) and replace both hinges with Panasonic-specified parts.
• 5. Verify closure: After reassembly, close the door on a strip of paper at several points around the seal. You should feel consistent resistance when pulling the paper out.
