Possible Causes
Open grill element, Loose grill element terminals, Failed grill relay on control board, Tripped thermal cut-out near grill
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and allow the grill area to cool before inspection.
- 1. Visual check: Set the oven to grill and observe (from a safe distance) whether the top element glows red. If not, turn off and cool.
- 2. Access terminals: Remove the top or rear cover to access the grill element connections. Check for loose or burnt terminals.
- 3. Resistance test: Disconnect one terminal and measure resistance across the grill element. An open reading indicates a failed element.
- 4. Check thermal cut-out: Some models have a thermal cut-out near the grill. Test for continuity and replace if open.
- 5. Control board: If the element and cut-out are good, the grill relay on the control PCB may be faulty and require board repair or replacement.
