Possible Causes
Faulty start button or touch sensor, Defective rotary encoder, Broken UI-to-main board ribbon cable, Control PCB input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing the control panel.
- 1. Check door and timer: Ensure the door is fully closed and any timer or child lock functions are disabled.
- 2. Test buttons: Press other buttons and rotate the selector knob. If some keys do not respond or the selection jumps erratically, the UI board may be faulty.
- 3. Access control panel: Remove the front panel to expose the user interface PCB and ribbon cable.
- 4. Reseat ribbon cable: Unplug and reinsert the ribbon cable between the UI and main board to restore good contact.
- 5. Inspect for damage: Look for cracks in the PCB near the buttons or signs of liquid ingress.
- 6. Replace UI board: If the start button or encoder is defective, replace the entire user interface PCB or keypad assembly as supplied by Panasonic.
