Possible Causes
Grease or food spills on bottom panel, Foil covering racks or bottom restricting airflow, New oven protective oils burning off
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the oven if smoke is heavy. Open windows and use ventilation. Keep a fire extinguisher rated for kitchen use nearby.
Steps:
- Inspect interior: Once cool, remove racks and inspect the bottom and sides for heavy grease or food buildup. Clean with a non-abrasive oven cleaner suitable for Premier ovens.
- Remove foil: Do not line the oven bottom with foil; it traps heat and can cause smoke and damage. Remove any foil from the bottom or racks.
- Burn-off new oven: For a new Premier oven, run an empty bake cycle at 400–450°F for 30–60 minutes with good ventilation to burn off manufacturing residues.
