Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the oven is cool and disconnected from mains before working on the lock or sensors.
- Check door lock operation: Start a self-clean cycle and listen for the lock motor (before disconnecting power). If it does not engage, the lock motor or linkage may be faulty.
- Inspect lock mechanism: Access the top/front of the oven to view the lock motor and linkage. Check for mechanical jams and free movement.
- Test pyro sensor: Some Princess pyrolytic models use a dedicated high-temperature sensor. Test its resistance at room temperature and compare to specifications.
- Check overheat thermostat: Verify continuity of any high-limit thermostats in the pyro circuit.
Replace any failed lock motor, sensor, or thermostat. If all components test good, the main control board pyro circuit may be defective and require replacement.
