Oven overheats, food burns quickly, or temperature runs much higher than set; sometimes error F02 appears and oven shuts off

Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power. Allow it to cool fully before touching internal parts.

• Visual inspection of sensor: Locate the temperature sensor probe inside the oven cavity (usually at the rear upper area). Check that it is firmly mounted and not bent or touching metal surfaces directly.
• Measure sensor resistance: Remove the mounting screws and gently pull the sensor into the cavity to access the connector. Disconnect it and measure resistance with a multimeter at room temperature. Compare to Proline spec (commonly ~500–1100 Ω at 20–25°C). If reading is open, shorted, or far off spec, replace the sensor.
• Check wiring harness: Follow the sensor wires to the control PCB. Inspect for pinched, burnt, or broken insulation. Reseat the connector on the PCB and ensure pins are not corroded.
• Check for intermittent faults: Wiggle the harness gently while measuring resistance; if readings jump, the harness or connector is faulty and should be replaced.
• Control PCB evaluation: If the sensor and wiring test good but the oven still overheats or shows F02, the electronic thermostat circuit on the main control PCB may be defective. Replacement of the PCB is usually required and is best done by a qualified technician.
