Possible Causes
Open cavity overheat thermostat, Blocked cooling vents causing overheating, Failed cooling fan, Loose connection on safety thermostat
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the oven to cool completely.
- Check ventilation: Ensure there is adequate space around the built-in oven for airflow and that cabinet vents are not blocked.
- Inspect cooling fan: Remove the top panel to access the cooling fan (not the convection fan). Check that the fan spins freely by hand and is not obstructed by insulation or wiring.
- Test cooling fan operation: After reapplying power (for this test only), run the oven and confirm the cooling fan starts shortly after heating begins. If it does not run, disconnect power again and test the fan motor for continuity. Replace if open or seized.
- Check overheat thermostat: Locate the safety thermostat (often on the top of the oven cavity or rear). Test for continuity. Some models have a manual reset button; press it if present. If it remains open, replace the thermostat.
- Re-test: Restore power and run the oven at a moderate temperature to confirm it no longer cuts out or shows F07.
