How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the cooker before removing the control panel.
- 1. Check mains stability: Ensure the cooker is on a dedicated circuit and that the wall switch and socket are sound.
- 2. Inspect control board: Remove the fascia to access the display/control board. Check for loose plugs and signs of overheating.
- 3. Reseat connectors: Disconnect and reconnect ribbon cables and plugs to clean contacts.
- 4. Examine solder joints: Look for cracked or dull solder joints on the display and power supply sections. Board-level repair is possible but usually the board is replaced.
- 5. Replace control board: If flickering persists, fit a new Rangemaster control/display board.
