Possible Causes
Failed circular fan element, Failed base element (on some models), Burnt element terminals, Broken wiring to element
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the cooker from the mains and allow it to cool fully.
- 1. Confirm symptom: Set the main oven to a high temperature (e.g. 220°C) and wait 10–15 minutes. If the fan runs but no heat is felt and the thermostat light stays on constantly, suspect the element.
- 2. Visual inspection: Remove shelves and back panel inside the oven (if removable) to expose the circular fan element. Look for cracks, bulges, or burn marks.
- 3. Access rear connections: Remove the rear cover to reach the element terminals. Check for loose or burnt connectors.
- 4. Test element: Disconnect the wires and measure resistance. An open circuit means the element has failed and must be replaced.
- 5. Replace element: Fit a Rangemaster-compatible fan element, ensuring the mounting bracket and screws are secure. Reconnect wires firmly.
