Possible Causes
Stuck keypad button, Damaged touch membrane, Loose or corroded ribbon cable, Liquid ingress into control fascia
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off and isolate the cooker before removing the control panel.
- 1. Check for stuck buttons: With power off, press each button several times to feel for sticking. Clean the fascia with a slightly damp cloth (no sprays directly on the panel).
- 2. Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control panel cover to access the keypad ribbon cable. Reseat the cable carefully, ensuring it is fully inserted and locked.
- 3. Look for moisture or contamination: If there are signs of liquid ingress, gently dry the area and clean any residue with isopropyl alcohol on a lint-free cloth.
- 4. Test operation: Restore power and test each button. If F7 persists or certain keys remain unresponsive, the keypad/touch assembly is likely defective.
- 5. Replace keypad assembly: Order the correct Rangemaster fascia or keypad module for your model and swap it over, transferring any brackets or seals.
