Possible Causes
Recent mains power interruption, Loose plug or cooker switch, Tripped circuit breaker, Poor electrical connection at terminal block
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If you suspect wiring damage or burning, isolate the cooker and do not use it until inspected.
- 1. Set the clock: After a power failure, many Rangemaster ovens require the time to be reset before they will heat. Use the clock controls to set the correct time.
- 2. Check cooker switch: Ensure the wall cooker switch is fully on and not loose. If it feels warm or smells burnt, have it replaced by an electrician.
- 3. Inspect the terminal block: With power isolated, remove the rear terminal cover and check for loose or burnt connections. Tighten and repair as needed.
- 4. Monitor for recurrence: If PF appears frequently without known power cuts, have the supply and appliance wiring checked professionally.
