Possible Causes
Seized fan motor, Worn motor bearings, Obstruction in fan blades, Faulty fan supply from control or selector switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect from mains and allow the oven to cool.
- 1. Listen for fan: In fan mode, you should hear the fan running. If silent, suspect the motor or its supply.
- 2. Check for obstruction: Remove the rear panel inside the oven to expose the fan. Clear any foil, food debris, or screws obstructing the blades.
- 3. Spin by hand: With power off, rotate the fan blade. If stiff, noisy, or seized, the motor needs replacement.
- 4. Test motor: Access the motor from the rear of the cooker. Measure resistance across the motor terminals; an open circuit indicates failure.
- 5. Replace fan motor: Fit a Rangemaster-compatible fan motor, transferring the fan blade and any spacers. Ensure all screws are tight and the blade does not foul the shroud.
