Possible Causes
Blown oven bulb, Faulty lamp glass cover seized, Failed lamp holder, No supply to lamp circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off power at the mains before changing the bulb to avoid electric shock.
- 1. Remove lamp cover: Inside the oven, locate the glass lamp cover. Unscrew it anti-clockwise. If stuck, use a rubber glove for better grip; do not use excessive force that may crack the glass.
- 2. Replace bulb: Fit a new high-temperature oven bulb of the correct type (usually 25W or 40W E14 for Rangemaster). Do not touch the glass with bare fingers.
- 3. Check lamp holder: If the new bulb does not light, inspect the lamp holder for burning or loose contacts. Replace the holder if damaged.
- 4. Verify supply: With power off, check wiring to the lamp holder. If all is sound but no power reaches the lamp, the fault may be in the selector switch or control board.
