Possible Causes
Faulty oven thermostat (mechanical models), NTC sensor reading low resistance, Stuck relay on control board, Incorrect sensor installation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate power before accessing internal components.
- 1. Verify with thermometer: Place an oven thermometer in the centre of the cavity and compare actual temperature to the set value over several cycles.
- 2. Check sensor mounting: Ensure the temperature sensor is firmly fixed and not touching the oven walls directly, which can cause false readings.
- 3. Inspect thermostat phial (mechanical): On models with a capillary thermostat, ensure the sensing bulb is correctly clipped in place and not kinked.
- 4. Replace faulty component: If the oven consistently overshoots by a large margin, replace the thermostat (mechanical) or NTC sensor (electronic). If the fault persists, the control board relay may be sticking and the board will need replacement.
