Possible Causes
Loose harness between display module and main control, Failed display board, Failed main control board, Power supply issue to control electronics
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing internal controls.
- Power reset: Turn the breaker OFF for 5 minutes, then ON. If F12 returns immediately, proceed with inspection.
- Inspect harness connections: Remove the control panel back cover. Locate the wiring harness between the display module and the main EOC. Unplug and firmly reconnect all related connectors.
- Check for corrosion or burns: Look for discoloration, corrosion, or melted plastic at connectors. Replace any damaged harnesses.
- Board diagnosis: If wiring is intact, either the display board or the electronic oven control board is faulty. Many RCA ovens integrate these; in that case, replace the combined control module.
- Verify correct voltage: With power ON (only if you are qualified), verify that the control is receiving proper line voltage per the wiring diagram. Incorrect supply can cause F12.
