RCA oven shows F13; often related to self-clean or door lock functions not working.

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before servicing the lock mechanism.

• Check door lock operation: Attempt to start a self-clean cycle and observe whether the door lock attempts to move. If there is no movement, suspect the motor or wiring.
• Access lock assembly: Remove the top or rear panel to reach the door lock motor and switches.
• Test switches: Use a multimeter to test continuity of the lock and unlock switches while manually moving the latch. Replace the assembly if switches do not change state correctly.
• Inspect wiring harness: Look for broken, pinched, or burned wires between the lock assembly and the EOC. Repair or replace as needed.
• Replace components: Replace the door lock motor and latch assembly if defective. If the lock assembly and wiring are good, the electronic oven control board may have a failed lock sense circuit.
