Possible Causes
Open oven temperature sensor (RTD), Broken sensor wiring, Loose connector at sensor or control board, Sensor harness unplugged during previous repair
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before testing.
- Access sensor: Remove the oven's rear panel to access the sensor connector, or remove the sensor from inside the cavity and pull it forward to reach the plug.
- Test sensor resistance: With the sensor unplugged, measure resistance at room temperature. An infinite reading indicates an open sensor; replace it.
- Check harness continuity: If the sensor is good, test continuity from the sensor connector to the EOC connector using a multimeter. Repair or replace any open wires.
- Reseat connectors: Firmly reconnect the sensor harness at both ends.
- Replace parts as needed: Install a new oven temperature sensor if open. If wiring and sensor are good, the electronic oven control board may be misreading the circuit.
