Possible Causes

Failed relay on electronic oven control (EOC), Internal control board logic fault, Power surge damage to control, Loose neutral or line connection to control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before removing any panels.

  • Power cycle: Turn the breaker OFF for 10 minutes, then back ON. If F5 reappears immediately, suspect the control board.
  • Inspect wiring: Remove the rear control panel cover. Check the main power connections to the EOC (L1, L2, N). Tighten any loose screws and look for discoloration or melted insulation.
  • Check for surge damage: Look for burn marks or bulging components on the EOC. If present, the board must be replaced.
  • Relay test (advanced): With power disconnected, you can check continuity across relay contacts if you have the wiring diagram and experience. A relay stuck open or closed will cause F5 in many designs.
  • Replace EOC: If wiring is sound and F5 persists, replace the electronic oven control board with the correct RCA part.
