Possible Causes
Partially failed bake element, One leg of 240V supply missing, Weak gas flame (gas models), Faulty temperature sensor causing early shutoff
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and gas (for gas models) before servicing.
- Check both elements: In electric models, confirm that both bake and broil elements glow during preheat. If one does not, test and replace it.
- Verify supply voltage: Ensure the range is receiving full 240V; a lost leg will cause slow heating.
- Inspect gas flame: For gas ovens, observe the burner flame. It should be blue and strong. Yellow, weak, or lifting flames indicate gas pressure or burner issues; clean the burner and consult a technician if needed.
- Test sensor: A faulty sensor can cause the control to think the oven is hotter than it is. Test and replace the oven temperature sensor if out of range.
