Possible Causes
Aging oven temperature sensor, Miscalibrated electronic control, Poor rack placement or airflow, Door gasket leaks causing heat loss
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use heat-resistant gloves when handling hot oven components.
- Verify with thermometer: Place an accurate oven thermometer in the center of the oven and run at 350°F for at least 20–30 minutes. Compare actual temperature to the setpoint.
- Adjust calibration: Many RCA ovens allow temperature offset adjustment in the user settings. Refer to your manual to adjust the oven temperature up or down (often ±35°F).
- Inspect door gasket: Check the door seal for gaps, tears, or flattening. Replace the oven door gasket if it does not seal evenly.
- Check sensor: If calibration cannot correct the issue, test the oven temperature sensor resistance at room temperature and replace if out of spec.
