Possible Causes
Burned-out bake element, Loose or burned bake element terminals, Broken wire between element and control, Failed bake relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before touching any internal parts.
- Visual inspection: Remove the oven racks and inspect the lower bake element for blisters, cracks, or burn spots. Any visible damage indicates failure.
- Check element continuity: Remove the rear panel or unscrew the element from inside the cavity and pull it forward. Disconnect the wires and test the element with a multimeter; it should show continuity (typically 15–40 Ω). Replace if open.
- Inspect terminals and wiring: Check the element terminals and wires for signs of overheating or burning. Repair any damaged connectors and ensure tight connections.
- Control board check: If the element and wiring are good, the bake relay on the electronic oven control board may have failed and the board will need replacement.
