Possible Causes
Burnt main power relay contacts, Failed triac controlling elements, Damaged PCB tracks due to overheating, Loose mains input connector on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power before removing the control board.
- Check supply: Confirm that the oven is receiving full mains voltage at the terminal block. Tighten any loose terminal screws.
- Inspect PCB: Remove the control PCB and inspect the area around the main power relay and triacs. Look for burn marks, cracked solder joints, or melted plastic.
- Reseat connectors: Ensure the mains input connector and element output connectors are firmly seated on the PCB.
- Board replacement: If the relay or triac is visibly damaged or testing confirms failure, replace the entire main control PCB with the correct Russell Hobbs part. Component-level repair is not recommended for most users.
- Test after replacement: Reassemble, restore power, and test all heating functions.
