Possible Causes

Loose ribbon cable between UI board and main PCB, Damaged UI PCB, Oxidised connector contacts, Incorrectly seated control panel after previous repair

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect mains power before removing the control panel.

  • Remove control panel: Carefully remove the front panel to access the user interface (UI) board and ribbon cable.
  • Reseat ribbon cable: Gently unplug the ribbon cable from both the UI and main PCB, then reinsert it fully and evenly. Ensure any locking tabs are engaged.
  • Inspect for damage: Check the ribbon for kinks, cuts, or burn marks. Replace if damaged.
  • Clean contacts: Use a soft, dry cloth or contact cleaner on the connector pins if they appear tarnished.
  • Test operation: Reassemble, restore power, and test. If E19 persists, the UI board or main PCB may need replacement.
