Possible Causes
Shorted oven temperature sensor, Sensor wiring insulation melted and shorting to chassis, Moisture inside sensor connector, Faulty main control PCB interpreting sensor signal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the power at the breaker or unplug the oven before inspection.
- Visual inspection: Access the rear of the oven and locate the temperature sensor connector on the main control PCB. Check for signs of melted insulation, moisture, or corrosion on the connector.
- Check sensor resistance: With the sensor unplugged, measure resistance across its terminals. A reading near 0 Ω indicates a shorted sensor. Replace the sensor if shorted.
- Inspect cable routing: Ensure the sensor cable is not touching the grill or fan element and has not been pinched by the rear panel. Re-route and secure with high-temperature cable ties if necessary.
- Dry moisture: If moisture is present around the connector, dry thoroughly and allow the oven to sit disconnected for several hours before retesting.
- If E2 remains with a new sensor: The main control PCB may be defective and require replacement.
