Possible Causes

Tripped thermal cut-out thermostat on oven cavity, Blocked cooling vents or cooling fan failure, Faulty cavity temperature sensor causing overheating, Main control PCB not regulating elements correctly

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect mains power and allow the oven to cool completely (at least 30–60 minutes) before working on it.

  • Check ventilation: Ensure the oven has correct cabinet ventilation as per the installation manual. Clear any obstructions from vents at the rear, sides, or top of the unit.
  • Inspect cooling fan: Remove the top cover and locate the cooling fan (usually above the cavity). Spin the fan blades by hand to ensure they move freely. If seized or noisy, the fan motor may need replacement.
  • Reset thermal cut-out (if resettable type): Locate the thermal cut-out thermostat on the top or rear of the oven cavity (small round device with two terminals, sometimes with a red reset button). Press the reset button if present. If it clicks, it was tripped.
  • Check for grease and dust: Clean any heavy grease or dust build-up around the fan and vents that could restrict airflow.
  • Test operation: Restore power and run the oven at a moderate temperature (e.g., 160°C) while monitoring. If E3 reappears quickly, further diagnosis of the sensor and control PCB is required and a technician is recommended.
