Possible Causes
Faulty door lock motor assembly, Misaligned door latch hook, Broken or loose door switch, Damaged wiring between door lock and main control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power before removing any panels or attempting to access the lock.
- Check door closure: Ensure the door closes fully and the latch engages firmly. Look for bent hinges or a distorted door seal preventing full closure.
- Inspect latch hook: Open the door and inspect the metal latch hook at the top or side. If bent, carefully straighten it so it aligns with the lock mechanism.
- Access door lock: Remove the top/front panel (depending on model) to access the door lock motor assembly. Check that the wiring connector is secure and not burnt.
- Manual test: With power disconnected, operate the lock lever by hand (if accessible) to ensure it moves freely. If jammed or noisy, the lock assembly should be replaced.
- Replace faulty lock: Remove mounting screws, disconnect the wiring plug, and fit a compatible Russell Hobbs door lock assembly. Reassemble and test.
