Possible Causes

Seized convection fan motor, Open-circuit fan motor winding, Obstruction preventing fan rotation, Faulty fan relay on main control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect mains power and allow the oven to cool before working near the fan.

  • Check fan operation: Select a convection mode and listen for the fan. If it hums but does not spin, the motor may be seized or obstructed.
  • Inspect fan blades: Remove the fan cover inside the oven cavity (usually a few screws). Check for food debris, foil, or grease buildup jamming the blades. Clean thoroughly.
  • Spin test: With power off, spin the fan by hand. It should rotate freely. If stiff or grinding, the motor bearings are worn and the motor should be replaced.
  • Access motor terminals: From the rear of the oven, locate the convection fan motor terminals. Check for loose or burnt connectors.
  • Replace motor if faulty: Remove mounting screws, disconnect wiring, and fit a compatible Russell Hobbs convection fan motor. Ensure the fan blade is correctly positioned and secure.
