Possible Causes

Weak or partially failed heating element, Faulty temperature sensor, Mis‑calibrated thermostat or control PCB, Heat loss due to damaged door seal

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before testing components.

  • Verify with an oven thermometer: Place an accurate oven thermometer in the centre of the cavity and compare actual temperature to the set temperature.
  • Check elements: Inspect grill, fan, and bottom elements for cold spots or uneven glow (on visible elements). Test resistance and replace any element that is significantly higher resistance than specification.
  • Inspect door seal: Check the Salter door gasket for gaps, tears, or compression. Replace if it does not seal evenly all around.
  • Test temperature sensor: Measure sensor resistance at room temperature and at a known elevated temperature (e.g., 100°C if possible). Replace if readings are out of range or unstable.
  • Control calibration: Some digital models allow temperature offset adjustment in the settings. Refer to the user manual to calibrate if the oven is consistently off by a similar amount.

Warning: Avoid touching hot elements or internal surfaces during live temperature tests.
