Possible Causes
Failed cooling fan motor, Blocked cooling air vents, Faulty high-limit thermostat or thermal fuse, Main PCB overheating or misreading temperature
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the oven and switch off the circuit breaker. Allow several hours for the oven and surrounding cabinetry to cool.
- Check installation and ventilation:
- Ensure there is proper clearance around the oven per Samsung installation specs.
- Verify that front and rear vents are not blocked by trim, foil, or objects.
- Listen for cooling fan operation:
- Restore power and start a bake cycle at 350°F.
- After a few minutes, listen at the control panel area for the internal cooling fan. If you do not hear it, the fan or its control circuit may have failed.
- Inspect cooling fan and high-limit devices (advanced DIY):
- Turn power off again and remove the rear or top panel.
- Locate the cooling fan assembly and spin the fan blade by hand; it should turn freely.
- Check wiring to the fan motor and high-limit thermostat/thermal fuse for burns or loose connections.
- Replace failed components:
- If the fan is seized or open-circuit, replace the cooling fan motor assembly.
- If a thermal fuse or high-limit thermostat is open, replace it and investigate the cause of overheating (blocked vents, fan failure).
- If all hardware checks good: The main PCB may be miscontrolling the fan or misreading temperature; professional diagnosis is recommended.
