Possible Causes
Failed convection fan motor, Obstructed convection fan blade, Loose or damaged convection motor wiring, Faulty main PCB convection drive circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and let the oven cool completely.
- Check for obvious obstruction:
- Open the oven door and inspect the convection fan cover at the rear of the cavity.
- Remove any loose foil, racks, or debris that may be contacting the fan.
- Test convection mode:
- Restore power and start a convection bake cycle.
- Listen for the convection fan. If it hums, grinds, or does not spin, turn the oven off and disconnect power.
- Inspect convection motor (advanced DIY):
- Remove the rear panel to access the convection motor.
- Check that the fan blade is tight on the shaft and not rubbing the housing.
- Spin the fan by hand; if stiff or noisy, the motor is likely failing.
- Check wiring connectors from the motor to the main PCB.
- Replace faulty parts:
- If the motor is seized or open when tested with a multimeter, replace the convection fan motor assembly.
- If wiring and motor are good, the main PCB may need replacement.
