Oven displays C-72 and may stop heating or lock out certain functions.

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker. Ensure the oven is cool before working near the door lock.

• Check door movement:
  • Verify the door closes fully and evenly.
  • Inspect the latch hook for bending or obstruction.
• Try a power reset: Restore power and attempt to start a normal bake (not self‑clean) to see if the lock cycles and the error clears.
• Inspect lock assembly (advanced DIY):
  • Remove the top or rear panel to access the door lock motor assembly.
  • Check for broken plastic linkages or jammed mechanisms.
  • Verify wiring connectors are secure.
• Manual unlock (if door stuck locked):
  • With power off, locate the manual release tab or lever near the lock assembly (varies by model) and gently move it to unlock the door.
• Replace faulty parts:
  • If the motor does not run when commanded, or the switch does not change state, replace the door lock assembly.
  • If the lock is good but the oven still reports an error, the main PCB may be at fault.
