Failed bake igniter, No gas supply or closed gas valve, Faulty gas safety valve, Damaged igniter wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and shut off the gas supply before removing panels. If you smell gas, ventilate the area and contact your gas supplier immediately.
- Check gas supply:
- Ensure the gas shutoff valve to the oven is fully open.
- Observe igniter:
- With panels in place and gas on, start a bake cycle and look through the bottom panel or view port.
- If the igniter does not glow or spark, it may be faulty.
- Test igniter (advanced):
- Turn off power and gas, remove the bottom panel, and access the igniter.
- Check for cracks or damage; measure resistance; replace if open or out of spec.
- Gas valve:
- If the igniter glows but the burner never lights, the gas valve may be defective and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
