Possible Causes
Open bake element, Open broil element, Tripped thermal fuse or high-limit thermostat, Failed main relay control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before inspecting elements or internal wiring.
- Check basic settings:
- Confirm the correct mode (Bake/Broil) and temperature are selected.
- Ensure the timer is not set to delay start.
- Inspect heating elements:
- Visually inspect the bake (bottom) and broil (top) elements for breaks, blisters, or burn marks.
- If an element is visibly damaged, it must be replaced.
- Test elements (advanced):
- With power off, disconnect one wire from the element and measure resistance; a typical element reads 15–40 Ω.
- Replace any open element.
- Check safety devices:
- Access the rear or top and locate the thermal fuse/high-limit thermostat.
- Test for continuity; replace if open.
- Control board: If elements and safety devices are good, the main relay control board may not be sending power to the elements and may need replacement.
