Possible Causes
Failed tangential (cooling) fan motor, Blocked air vents, Faulty fan control circuit on main board, Loose wiring to cooling fan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool fully before removing the top cover.
- Access cooling fan: Remove the oven from the cabinet if necessary. Take off the top cover to expose the tangential cooling fan assembly.
- Inspect fan and ducts: Check for dust, grease, or insulation blocking the fan blades or air channels. Clean thoroughly with a vacuum and soft brush.
- Test fan motor: Spin the fan by hand; it should move freely. Measure motor resistance and compare with specifications. An open or shorted winding indicates a bad motor.
- Check wiring: Verify that the fan connector is fully seated on the control board and that wires are not burnt or broken.
- Control board output: If the motor is good, test whether the board supplies voltage to the fan when the oven is hot or during operation. Lack of voltage suggests a faulty control board.
- Replace faulty parts: Install a new tangential cooling fan or control board as required. Ensure all covers are reinstalled to maintain proper airflow.
